Baha Mar Pier

MARINE AND EARTHWORKS —

BMC was contracted to build the pier which included the construction of wood docks, floating docks, raising the crest of the existing breakwater and the installation of MEP systems for the pier.

Perfect Day at CocoCay Pier

MARINE AND EARTHWORKS —

BMC was contracted to rehabilitate the existing beach at Royal Caribbean International’s, formerly Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, private island destination Perfect Day at CocoCay. Works involved installation of 35,000 cuyd of imported beach sand, grading, installation of groin structures to hold the beach in place. In an effort for the island to retain full functionality as a port of call during replenishment, work was conducted at night to limit interference of RCI’s operations.

Goldwynn Piling

INDUSTRIAL —

BMC was contracted to provide structural support for the Goldwynn project, an 8-storey mixed used waterfront building featuring the Hotel at Goldywynn and the Residences at Goldwynn. Works involved the installation of 680no. 24” diameter, 30’+ auger cast compression and tension piles.

Harbour Island Marina

MARINE AND EARTHWORKS —

BMC was contracted to carry out the following scope of works for the construction of the Harbour Island Marina:

  • Demolition of existing marina, including utility disconnections and relocations, removal and disposal of debris
  • Dredging of 6,000 cuyd in preparation of new docks and refurbished marina
  • Installation of sheet piles with tie back rods and hardware, walers and caps
  • Fill of 9,000 cuyd
  • Installation of 6,000 tons of rock boulders
  • Installation of floating docks, gangway and dock equipment
  • Installation of timber piles
  • Installation of fuel (250 ft. gas and diesel with dispensing and metering system), electrical (main line, feeders, transformers, panels and boxes and pedestals), water (2,400 ft. main line, with service connections), fire protection (1,650 ft. main line with service connections), and sanitary force main (2,240ft main line with service connections)
  • Structural demolition upland with erection of construction safety barricade fencing
  • Shoreline stabilization including construction of bulkhead (350 ft of sheet piles, 3,250 cuyd of fill and compaction), and rock revetments (approx. 3,000 tons)

    Hurricane Hole Marina

    MARINE AND EARTHWORKS —

    BMC was contracted for sea and land based dredging and the demolition of existing structures in order to construct a new marina including breakwaters, fixed and floating docks, accessories and MEP systems.

    Norman's Cay Marina

    MARINE AND EARTHWORKS —

    BMC was contracted for the construction of Norman's Cay Marina. Scope included heavy earthworks, dredging, grading works, construction and installation of docks (8,250 sq. ft. of Timber Docks, 10,300 sq. ft. of floating concrete docks), flushing channel breakwaters and main channel breakwater, boulder works (25,000 tons of breakwater boulders and 3,318 tons of shoreline protection revetment), RORO ramp, construction of wooden bridges and electrical and utilities installation.

    Ocean Cay Breakwater Project

    HEAVY CIVIL —

    BMC was contracted to carry out the construction of a combi-wall/ retaining wall structure with steel and sheet piles and the construction of north and south breakwaters to protect the Ocean Cay coast.

    The Pointe Marina

    MARINE AND EARTHWORKS —

    BMC was contracted to construct the marina at the new resort on West Bay St. Works included:

  • Demolition of existing marina, including utility disconnections and relocations, removal and disposal of debris
  • Installation of steel sheet piling with coping
  • Construction of concrete walls and sidewalk
  • Placement of gravel bed under retaining wall
  • Placement of armour rock with filter fabric to create breakwaters at two locations
  • Construction of concrete apron
  • Repair of existing walls
  • Construction of timber docks and installation of mooring piles, fender piles, three pile clusters and fender system
  • Beach nourishment (supply and placement of beach grade sand (16,220 tons))
  • Installation of potable water, fire system, sewer system and electrical distribution system and lighting fixtures
